8 tell tale signs that your drains are blocked

There are a few indications that are easy to notice, which signify that the drainage system is blocked. It is imperative to act quickly upon discovering some of these symptoms. Although these are minor implications, they can manifest into more significant ones.

What to look out for;

1. The water level in your toilet is higher than normal.

2. After flushing, the waste remains in the toilet.

3. There are strange odours emanating from the gullies and manholes.

4. This is a result of food particles and bacteria becoming lodged in the drain and pipes, then gradually decomposing whilst still in the pipe.

5. The manholes or external grates are overflowing.

6. The outside gully and grates are overflowing after the washing machine empties.

7. When you flush the toilet or empty water from the basin, shower, sink or bath, there is a gurgling sound. This sound is provoked by trapped air that bubbles up and seeps its way up to the surface as the water filters down the drain.
 
8. The sinks around your house have an odd smell. This is caused by the food still being stuck in the drains and pipes, which decomposes as it can not be flushed through pipes.

When these symptoms are spotted early, they can be dealt with quickly. This ensures that more serious problems with the drainage will be avoided. If you have noticed any number of these symptoms, then you must a drainage specialist. By doing so, it will be significantly cheaper to rectify a smaller trouble instead of allowing it gradually deteriorate.
